Yoz!

I'm back from the full 8-days of service learning in Chiangmai and I'm proud to say that I've grown alot. :D Pictures would not be on today, but rather, texts! I've got lots to share. (:

And so, I get to sneak a peek into the lifes of others, far far away from mine. I don't know how to start. Okay, let's start from reaching Chiangmai airport since there's nothing really important before that. My first impression upon reaching was the scorching heat of the sun as we load our luggages up the 'songtiao' and the foreign language of Thai.

No, I can't start from Day One! Zomg, it will take ages to type down whatever I wanna say.

Alright, still remember the times from CCOF, to the Karen Tribe and all the way to the Refugees Camp? The long hours of travelling up the mountains? The constant shifting of lodgings, and the icy cold water? The times we spent together.. ?

I'll not forget the times I had together with the orphans in CCOF. The way they go up to you and hold your hands, bringing you around, smiling at you. When you perform for them, and dance with them, that smile locked onto their faces, as well as yours.

How they take millions of photos with your camera, fiddling with the buttons like they've never done before. The continous request of piggyback-ing, and carrying. How am I suppose to forget? I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling sad when we had to leave CCOF and travel up the mountains, knowing that this might be the very last time seeing them.

):

Then it was the Karen Tribe. The giving out of rice, goodie bags, towels and many others. The amount of time spent comparing prices of items, packing, unpacking, packing and unpacking of old clothes, as well as the items. The human chain that we formed to get things done! Alas, the day where all our hardwork paid off.. the distribution day.

The smiles on the tribal villagers faces upon receiving the items.. And when they saw our performance! Lastly, the trip up and down the hill to the pastor's house for lunch/dinner. The steepness we had to overcome. And the 25kg of rice bag we had to deliver up hill. Sitting on the pick up truck, singing, joking, clowning.

):

The travelling around the 7 villages, understanding their lifestyles, eating broken rice, weaving their own clothes, rearing their own animals, and practically just striving for survival. And then you compare with the lifes we all have back in Singapore, you just feel like shooting yourself down for not cherishing the things you have back home.

):

Overall, I've just learnt super alot. I'll learn to cherish all the things I have, I swear. And one day, I'll like going back there again to help and to learn.

Next, to all my companions. I think you all have been a fantastic bunch of chums, and I'll never forget the times I spent with you all. :D Be it the time spent with you, long or short, you've contributed to my memories in Chiangmai. Love you guys! (:

I'll just post something for a few people, who might or might not be close to me before this trip (:

Alex, I will remember you forever for your singing and your imba power of influencing everyone to get hooked onto your theme song, 'Tonight' as well as 'I believe'. Your crapping, and everything, it was just super duper fun with you in the van. (:

Mr Sim! Thank you for your guidance throughout this whole trip, especially the songs you sang with your guitar playing while we were writing our reflections, thank you so much, and hope you'll never forget this trip with us to Chiangmai! :D

Shoutout to CAT(s), I've never regretted embarking on this trip, and I'm sure none of you did too. I'll take this fab trip memories to bed tonight, and recall everything that we've done together. I think our 'human chain' was seriously super duper good as we get things done doubly fast. The performance we put up, especially the puppetry group, the songs we sang, the fun we had with each other, quietly linked us together as time tick by. How am I suppose to forget? I hope after school reopen, when we bump to each other, we'll still greet each other with the same familiarity, and yay have more outings to bond kay! :DDDDD

P/S: I've finally finish this entire post. I took super long to write this post, making sure that whatever I write is, idk, acceptable? Ya so, to CAT(s), read kay, love you guys! :D

P/S: Hey, the last part, I might have missed out some people, cos I'm really damn tired now. But once I remember you guys, I'll re-post again, k, and again, love you guys! :D
